Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after March of 2023.
Victory also means he has achieved 21 titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet saved 4 early break points in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
