I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
